Participants will learn the responsibilities of being a prepared, safe, responsible, and professional babysitter. Topics include supervision, behavior guidance, proper bottle feeding/diapering techniques, personal and child safety, basic first aid, emergencies and fire safety. Dolls, bottles and diaper supplies are provided for hands-on participation. This class was developed by the Health and Safety Institute and is approved by the American Pediatrics Association. Participants receive a certification card and a downloadable handbook.

This pirate-themed campaign will challenge participants to hone their skills in strategic combat, advanced role-playing, and creative problem-solving. Players will navigate treacherous waters, uncover hidden treasures, and forge alliances—or rivalries—in a world of daring escapades and nautical intrigue. Step into a myth-inspired Dungeons & Dragons adventure where the gods are restless and heroes are tested. Players will face legendary trials, unravel divine mysteries, and shape their own myths in a world of ancient power and epic choices. Perfect for adventurers who loved books like Percy Jackson and enjoy heroic quests rooted in classic mythology.

Students will learn how to fly like the pros in the Drone Racing League by training on a flight simulator. Once they learn the basics of flying, they’ll assemble their very own drone which they can optionally purchase during the camp. After learning drone safety and maintenance, students will take their drone to the skies and compete in numerous races and challenges. Led by experienced instructors, students will leave camp with the skills and knowledge to pilot their drones and keep them running. The drones used in camps have cameras, and are perfect for entry level pilots. Students can choose to bring a drone home for an additional fee.

Design, develop, and create 3D virtual reality environments and characters to build your own VR games. Students will start with smaller projects to learn the basics of coding, design, and interaction. In the final two days, they will construct a full labyrinth complete with challenges, characters, and immersive exploration. This camp is ideal for students passionate about technology and creativity. VR projects can be viewed on most mobile devices and VR systems such as Oculus. Want to try a new sport? This floorball class covers the basics. You'll learn the rules of this fast-paced floor hockey game, popular in Europe and growing here! We'll practice stick handling, shooting, and passing. Then, you'll play in scrimmages. Floorball is like floor or ice hockey, with teams of five and a goalie. Wear athletic clothes and gym shoes; we'll provide the equipment. Get ready to learn and play!

Dive into the captivating world of creativity and technology at our Intro to Digital Art summer camp! This immersive three-day program combines hands-on learning with engaging digital tools, offering a dynamic journey into digital art. Students will explore the fundamentals of digital drawing and apply what they learn to an exciting real world application. Through a partnership with No Grit No Pearl, students will be able to get their favorite design printed on a canvas or t-shirt which will get shipped to their house after the camp! Intro to Digital Art is the perfect blend of fun, skill development, and boundless imagination, providing young artists with the tools and confidence to bring their visions to life.

If you like playing video games, you’ll love designing them! Trained instructors will teach students how to program their own video games using an engaging program called Kodu. They will create their own world, populate it with characters, and then play the games they create during class. Students will learn important programming skills while having tons of fun, with no prior experience needed!

Students will be introduced to object-oriented programming and elements of the Java language while learning to code their text-based RPG (roleplaying game). No programming experience is necessary, but familiarity with everyday tasks using a computer operating system (text-editing and understanding directory structures) and keyboarding is required. Bring a USB drive to save your games on the last day.

DASH Sports Summer Jr. NBA basketball camps provide players with a well-rounded basketball experience covering a broad range of skills training and skill-based games. Players will be taught how to properly shoot, pass, dribble, and play defense in a fun and positive environment. Camp ends with scrimmages and games the final day where athletes can showcase their skills. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a snack. Balls are provided. Each participant may receive a custom Jr. NBA Jersey of their favorite team with their name and number printed on the back to keep.

Sign them up for Middle School Lunch Bunch and they can head to the cafeteria after their morning camp, eat lunch, enjoy some low-key activities, and then head off for the start of their afternoon camp! **Please bring a nut-free lunch, water bottle and a book or activity to do in the cafeteria.** NOTE: Lunch Bunch is only offered at Central Middle School for students registered at a Central Middle School morning camp and a Central Middle School afternoon camp.
