Defensive Driving 55+Special InterestSave money on your car insurance premiums and become a better driver! Minnesota law requires insurance companies to offer you a 10% reduction for three years if you complete this National Safety Council's Defensive Driving course. The course is one session of classroom instruction - no driving or test is required. You will receive a certificate of completion to provide to your insurance company. Attendance is required to receive your certificate. Bring your driver's license with you to class. The instructor is certified through the MN Safety Council. This class is for both new and returning students. Online classes will take place on Zoom or Microsoft Teams. You will need to pick up your materials at the Community Ed office at 17340 County Rd 6, Plymouth, MN 55447 a few days prior to class (wait to pick up until you are notified). Starting SoonEarly Childhood Screening - July 2026Early Childhood ScreeningWayzata Public Schools provides free early childhood screening for all 3- to 5-year-olds living in our school district. Identifying any health or developmental concerns early allows us to connect you and your family with district and community resources who, if needed, can provide earlier intervention services and learning opportunities for your child. The screening assessment is free and is required by the State of Minnesota before a child can begin kindergarten. Families who participate in an Early Childhood Screening visit will gain valuable insights about important milestones in their child’s growth and development. The screening visit is structured to include fun, age-appropriate activities that assess multiple areas of your child’s health and development, including: Social and emotional development Fine and gross motor ability Cognitive development Speech, language and articulation Vision, hearing and physical growth Health and immunization history Parents/guardians accompany their child through the approximate hour-long visit. After completing the screening activities, our early childhood specialists will share information about your child’s growth, development, and learning. Please note: There are two steps to register. This engaging class combines LEGO® Education and LEGO® Technic™ materials to study design, technology, science, and mathematics. Students working in pairs will build learning models, then be challenged to customize and improve their projects suing the principles they've discovered.
