Bicycle Repair and Rebuilding

Students in this class will learn all aspects of repairing and rebuilding bikes including gears, brakes, wheel truing and re-greasing. Demonstrations will be done on bikes supplied by the instructor. Basic physics will be explained in the demonstration, including simple machines, gears, levers, and mechanical advantage.

Students will work on bikes donated by local police departments and be able to keep the bikes and bring them home after class! 

The instructor will provide all tools and cleaning materials. Some spare parts will be available for student use. If students wish to buy parts for their bikes, parents can purchase parts on their own or from the instructor at wholesale prices.
