Art JournalingCreateFill your sketchbook with beautiful works of art. Art journaling is a great stress reliever and way to practice and refine your drawing skills. Each week we will follow practical examples that will strengthen our drawing and painting skills, as well as tap into our creative sides. We will work on basic to more advanced drawing skills, color theory, watercolor technique, and explore our creativity as artists, as well as, learning therapeutic art approaches for mental health and healing. Students should bring 8 x 10 or larger notebook or pad of mixed media paper 90 lb. or higher to class each session. Beginner Stained Glass WindowCreateCreate a beautiful stained glass window approximately 8” x 10” in size. This class is for both beginner and experienced stained glass participants! The copper foil technique will be taught from cutting to assembly. The first night focuses on choosing a pattern and discussing colors of glass, equipment and layout. The other sessions will focus on assembling your stained glass window. Glass and materials are purchased directly from the instructor at class - approximately $65. Tool kits are provided. Please bring safety glasses to use while cutting and grinding glass. This class includes one free Saturday morning Open Studio visit. Bob Ross Oil PaintingCreateEnjoy this 3-hour class where you will follow the step-by-step instruction in the Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet oil painting technique. The relaxed atmosphere will teach you how to use all the equipment to paint mountains, trees, bushes, lakes, rivers and sunsets. You will walk away with your own Bob Ross replica painting on a 20x16 canvas that you may keep for yourself or give as a gift. Crushed Glass Sun CatcherCreateBring a little sparkle into your home with a one-of-a-kind sun catcher! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design and fill a wooden sun catcher frame using colorful crushed glass pieces. Once your design is complete, you’ll learn how to use resin to seal the glass in place, creating a luminous piece that catches the light beautifully in any window. Glass Mosaic Window or Table LampCreateCreate a custom, colorful table lamp or window in 2 fun evenings (with some homework)! Using precut glass, you will cover a 4”x 9” or 8” x 8” lamp or 20”x25” four pane window. Stencils are available or use your creativity to make a beautiful work of art. The first night is dedicated to working on your project, having fun, and discovering your creative side. During the second night, you will grout and learn about glass cutting, mosaic resources, other types of mosaics. Mosaic CoastersCreateThis class is a new idea with stained glass mosaic pieces! We use unique baroque glass that is textured, with bold swirls. We will design, cut glass, glue then grout at the second session. You will make a set of 4 coasters that are 4” x 4” tiles. All tools and materials are available at our glass studio. Stained Glass - Whimsical Woman SuncatcherCreateJoin us in creating stained glass wild woman suncatcher. We use large and small colorful nuggets, stained glass and lead came. Learn to use a soldering iron and cut glass. Copper foil sheets or lead came are used to make crazy hairdos. All tools and supplies are provided.
