Middle School Biologist Explorer CampSTEMJoin a Naturalist from EcoElsa to learn how to conduct different animal surveys and experiments. Kids will learn how to observe different animals and collect data about them and their habitats as well as how to report that data as a “citizen scientist.” Camp will include getting to interact with a wide variety of plants and small wildlife like insects, amphibians, snakes, and birds as well as using different scientist tools to do their research and exploring. Make sure to dress for the weather, closed-toed shoes and preferably long pants as most of the class will be spent outdoors and off trail in some areas!Youth Classes Summer 2026 -
Middle School Nature Art & Science CampSTEMKids will learn about art mediums through nature and how it connects to different science principles through our activities. Depending on the weather some of the activities we may do are making charcoal sticks, paint & dye color science, fiber weaving, animal footprints, and more! Kids will benefit from being able to creatively express themselves while also learning about art, science, and history. This class is a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities so make sure kids dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes! Learn techniques like grass weaving, making plant-based dyes, and designing inspired by nature. Discover ways to make fashion more sustainable through upcycling and recycling activities. This class includes both indoor and outdoor activities, so dress for the weather in clothes that can get messy and wear closed-toed shoes. Eco-Inventors CampSTEMLearn how scientists and engineers study nature to find solutions to fix the problems we face in this biomimicry focused STEM camp. We will put your problem-solving skills and creativity to the test to find a solution to a variety of challenges like designing & building wind turbines, earthquake proofing buildings, designing prosthetic limbs, and more! Middle School Wild Teen Survival CampSpecial InterestTeens will learn essential survival skills through hands-on experiences in the woods. Skills covered include shelter building, fire safety, water treatment, orienteering, and pocketknife use. The camp ends with a survival challenge, where participants pack in and out to a wild location, testing their ability to survive with only a day pack. Supervised by EcoElsa staff, this program builds on basic survival knowledge and is perfect for teens who have taken other survival classes.
