Designed for the young racer for before and during the race season. Bring the bike you will be riding or maybe it’s that bike you are looking to sell to upgrade to your next race bike. We will cover what to do in a race if you run into some of the most common issues. We will check bikes for the following safety issues: Headsets, Hubs, Cranks Brakes Shifting and chain Wheels and tires Pedals Seat post and seat. If bikes need parts or have issues we can’t fix during class we will provide you with the help needed to get it running smoothly.

Have you ever wanted to experience the joy of painting with oils but been afraid to try? Then this class is for you. You will create a beautiful Oil Painting on an 8 x 10 inch canvas following step-by-step instructions all while learning about the paints and other tools needed to create an oil painting. All supplies are provided. Please bring a box to bring your painting home in at the end of class as oil paints remain wet for a long time.

Jumpstart to K is an engaging introduction to your Rising Kindergartner's future elementary school. This brief yet impactful experience aims to familiarize children with the school to help a smooth transition into kindergarten. North Woods teachers lead Jumpstart to K, and while the teacher your Rising K student meets for this program may not be their classroom teacher for Kindergarten, they will be another familiar, friendly face during the transition. This program is designed to be interactive and fun. Throughout the morning or afternoon, your Rising K student will engage in a series of interactive activities and guided experiences aimed at building confidence and enthusiasm for the kindergarten classroom. From a brief introduction to school rules and routines to navigating common areas such as the classroom, cafeteria, and playground, students will gain an understanding of what to expect in their new school environment. Jumpstart to K allows children another opportunity in their future school in a supportive and nurturing environment for this exciting milestone. Please note that Jumpstart to K is a drop-off program. Students who will be attending North Woods for Kindergarten will be given priority. Please register for only one session.

Join us at Oakwood Kindergarten Connect for a focused time to help with the transition to school. Kindergarten Connect is a transition session designed to help students and caregivers feel confident, prepared, and excited for the first day of school. Small groups of students will meet in a classroom with kindergarten teachers. Together they will do some activities that they would do in kindergarten. They will begin with a Morning Meeting, story time and table work, and end with some choice play time. Caregivers will meet with the Principal to review what to expect on the first day and beyond, and have an opportunity to ask questions. Can’t make it? We will have a slide show that we can share with you. Parking: Please park in the lot facing County Road 6 and enter through the front doors.

Stretch and strengthen in this outdoor flow style yoga class with a focus on breathing, holding holds and improving balance. Great for all ages and yoga experience levels. Please bring your own mat.

Summer Outdoor Play! Families are invited to meet at the Wayzata Early Learning School playground and explore our expansive outdoor space while engaging in outdoor activities, projects, and fun with other children and families. There is no charge for this activity but pre-registration is required. All ages are welcome, but activities will be geared toward early childhood students.
