Students will make and take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. Early Childhood Screening - June 2026Early Childhood ScreeningWayzata Public Schools provides free early childhood screening for all 3- to 5-year-olds living in our school district. Identifying any health or developmental concerns early allows us to connect you and your family with district and community resources who, if needed, can provide earlier intervention services and learning opportunities for your child. The screening assessment is free and is required by the State of Minnesota before a child can begin kindergarten. Families who participate in an Early Childhood Screening visit will gain valuable insights about important milestones in their child’s growth and development. The screening visit is structured to include fun, age-appropriate activities that assess multiple areas of your child’s health and development, including: Social and emotional development Fine and gross motor ability Cognitive development Speech, language and articulation Vision, hearing and physical growth Health and immunization history Parents/guardians accompany their child through the approximate hour-long visit. After completing the screening activities, our early childhood specialists will share information about your child’s growth, development, and learning. Please note: There are two steps to register. Early Learning School: Preschool & Pre-KindergartenCurrent customer registration for preschool and pre-kindergarten will be Monday, February 2nd at 8:00am through Friday, February 6th at 4:00pm. All other school year registration begins Friday, February 6th at 8:00am. We will put your problem-solving skills and creativity to the test to find a solution to a variety of challenges like designing & building wind turbines, earthquake proofing buildings, designing prosthetic limbs, and more! Inventors will benefit from learning how nature connects to STEM and solving real world problems as well as further developing teamwork and problem-solving skills. Elementary Track & FieldSports and FitnessThe Wayzata High School Track and Field Coaches are offering track meet events for boys and girls ages 5-12. Students will be divided by age group, with the youngest age groups starting first. Ribbons will be awarded to the first six placers in each race. Participants need to bring running shoes and a water bottle. All participants registered by June 1st will receive a track t-shirt on the first day of the meet. Events will be coordinated by WHS Track and Field Coaches and volunteer high school track students. For information on weather cancellations visit www.wayzatatrack.org. We are unable to offer a rain date. Refunds cannot be given for cancelled classes due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
